What does an Evidence Deposit prove?
It provides evidence that a specific set of materials existed, unchanged, at a recorded timestamp — the manifest hash is anchored on a public blockchain and a certificate is issued. It is not an official patent filing and does not grant legal priority.
Is this an official patent filing?
No. Patents are granted and maintained solely by official patent offices. PatentChain documents your invention, preserves evidence of existence and integrity, and helps you research prior art — on top of, not in place of, the official process.
Are my files public?
No. Records are private by default. You can store documents privately or use hash-only mode, where files are fingerprinted in your browser and only the hashes reach PatentChain. Verification never reveals private content.
Does PatentChain determine patentability?
No. Prior Art research surfaces technically relevant documents and explains why each was ranked, with feature comparison. It is a research aid, not a patentability opinion, novelty score or freedom-to-operate conclusion.
Which patent databases are searched?
Live analyses query patent literature through our research providers. The demo dataset is a committed synthetic set used for evaluation and trials; live coverage applies on paid plans.
Can I collaborate with an advisor?
Yes. You can invite collaborators per invention, record acknowledgements, and share records securely with revocable links — with an activity trail throughout.
Can I export my reports?
Yes. Paid plans export professional PDF evidence and research reports, and Pro and Business can assemble Evidence Packages for diligence.
How is my data protected?
Documents are private by default with encrypted transport and storage, permission-based access, an audit trail, and hash-only mode for materials you never want to upload.
